The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) published the “Standards for Cosmetic Efficacy Claim Evaluation”, which will come into force from 1 January 2022. Cosmetic notifiers or registrants need to submit a summary of their product efficacy claims to an online platform specified by the NMPA.
According to the document, the summary of product efficacy claims shall include at least:
- Basic product information
- Parameters and evaluation institutions
- Brief description of evaluation methods and results
- Conclusion and relevance of test result and product claims
The standard classified different evaluation methods for different product claims, products that are not required to submit the summary, also provided a format of the summary of product efficacy claims.
