Auf Ersuchen der Europ\u00e4ischen Kommission hat die EFSA-Gremium f\u00fcr Ern\u00e4hrung, neuartige Lebensmittel und Lebensmittelallergene (NDA)<\/a> wurde gebeten, eine Stellungnahme zu Zink-L-Carnosin als neuartiges Lebensmittel (NF) gem\u00e4\u00df der Verordnung (EU) 2015\/2283 und als Zinkquelle zur Verwendung in Nahrungserg\u00e4nzungsmitteln abzugeben.<\/div>\n

Die Zielgruppe waren Kinder \u00fcber 12 Jahre und Erwachsene, ausgenommen schwangere und stillende Frauen.<\/div>\n

Das Gremium war der Ansicht, dass das Produkt \u2013 ein pulverf\u00f6rmiges, in Wasser bei neutralem pH-Wert unl\u00f6sliches Pulver \u2013 nicht ausreichend charakterisiert sei, insbesondere hinsichtlich seiner Partikelform und Bioverf\u00fcgbarkeit. In diesem Zusammenhang konnte das Gremium nicht best\u00e4tigen, dass die vorgelegten Daten zur Bioverf\u00fcgbarkeit und Toxizit\u00e4t f\u00fcr die Beurteilung der Sicherheit des neuartigen Lebensmittels ausreichten.<\/div>\n

Folglich war das EFSA-Gremium der Ansicht, dass das NF absorbiert wurde und Zink lieferte, da es jedoch in einer unzureichend charakterisierten Partikelform vorlag, konnte seine Sicherheit nicht nachgewiesen und die Bioverf\u00fcgbarkeit nicht bestimmt werden.<\/div>\n
