ANSA<\/a> ver\u00f6ffentlicht, dass die EU-Kommission den Experten der Mitgliedstaaten einen Vorschlag zur \u00c4nderung der Vorschriften zum Verfallsdatum von Lebensmitteln vorgelegt hat. Auf dem Etikett soll neben \u201eMindestens haltbar bis\u201c auch der Zusatz \u201eOftmals haltbar bis\u201c stehen.<\/div>\n

Die \u00c4nderung ist im Entwurf des delegierten Rechtsakts enthalten, an dem Br\u00fcssel derzeit arbeitet und der der italienischen Nachrichtenagentur ANSA vorliegt. Laut der EU-Exekutive ist die Erg\u00e4nzung geeignet, Lebensmittelverschwendung zu reduzieren, da sie ein \u201ebesseres Verst\u00e4ndnis des Verfallsdatums\u201c erm\u00f6glicht und \u201eden Entscheidungsprozess der Verbraucher hinsichtlich des Verzehrs oder der Entsorgung eines Lebensmittels beeinflusst\u201c.<\/div>\n

Laut dem Entwurf der Verordnung \u201everstehen die meisten Verbraucher den Unterschied zwischen den Formulierungen \u201aMindestens haltbar bis\u2018 \u2013 als Sicherheitsindikator \u2013 und \u201aMindestens haltbar bis\u2018 \u2013 als Qualit\u00e4tsindikator \u2013 nicht vollst\u00e4ndig\u201c. Die Europ\u00e4ische Kommission schl\u00e4gt ein Etikett mit der Aufschrift \u201eMindestens haltbar bis\u201c vor. Das Datum ist oft auch l\u00e4nger haltbar. Die \u00c4nderung des Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatums wurde 2020 von Br\u00fcssel im Rahmen der \u201eFarm-to-Fork\u201c-Strategie angek\u00fcndigt.<\/div>\n
