On 9 February, the Chamber of Deputies from Mexico approve, unanimously (472 votes), a proposal to modify the General Health Law by adding Article 216 (bis) that would establish that edible oils and fats, as well as food and non-alcoholic beverages, may not contain in their retail presentation partially hydrogenated oils, known as trans fats, which have been added during their industrial manufacturing process.
