Cosmetics Cream And Lipstick
On February 1, 2022, the European Commission introduced amendments to the Annexes of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 on Cosmetic Products.

The new amendments comprise:
  • Prohibition of 14 ingredients
  • Removal of 1 prohibited ingredient
  • Restriction of 2 new ingredients including Methyl-N-methylanthranilate (M-N-MA)
  • Revision of 1 permitted preservative
Given that these new restrictions may require a reformulation of cosmetics or a change to their packaging. The European Commission provided a grace period till August 21, 2022, for the implementation.

Additionally, as of November 21, 2022, products that do not meet the requirements must be withdrawn from the market.
