Caroline Shleifer spent the early part of her career inside regulatory affairs at global consumer goods companies. She watched her teams do extraordinary work under impossible conditions: tracking thousands of regulatory changes across dozens of markets, manually, in spreadsheets, while product launches waited and competitors moved faster.
The regulatory affairs profession is full of brilliant specialists. So, the problem wasn’t expertise, but rather, infrastructure. Companies were running 21st-century product portfolios on 20th-century compliance tools.
