Mexico to ban both glyphosate and genetically modified corn.

Mexico published a Presidential decree that calls for a phase-out of both glyphosate and genetically modified corn uses. This decree states that the use of the herbicide glyphosate will be phased out over the next four years and also calls for the revocation of existing and future permits for genetically modified corn crops.

The decree directs that the use of genetically modified corn will completely stop by January 31, 2024. The Mexican government has yet to provide expected timelines or implementation details for the decree.
