National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) proposed to prohibit the cosmetic applications of Cannabis sativa fruit, Cannabis sativa leaf extract, Cannabis sativa seed oil, and cannabidiol (CBD). The deadline for public comment is April 19.
CBD Cosmetics products are currently permitted in China for purchase through cross-border e-commerce platforms. Once the proposed ban goes into effect, it will no longer be allowed.
