The guidance describes the procedure and the related timelines to applications on food enzymes, food additives, and food flavorings, the EFSA pathways, and the support initiatives available from the preparation of the application (pre‐submission phase) to the adoption and publication of EFSA's scientific opinion.

National Institutes for Food and Drug Control (NIFDC) proposed to prohibit the cosmetic applications of Cannabis sativa fruit, Cannabis sativa leaf extract, Cannabis sativa seed oil, and cannabidiol (CBD).
The deadline for public comment is April 19.
CBD Cosmetics products are currently permitted in China for purchase through cross-border e-commerce platforms. Once the proposed ban goes into effect, it will no longer be allowed.

To provide legal and operational certainty, the authorities have established a period, from April 1 to May 31, 2021, in which products that comply with the provisions of phase one and identical products that comply with phase two may coexist on shelves.
NOM-051 is known as one of the strictest label regulations for prepackaged food and non-alcoholic beverages worldwide. According to this regulation, prepackaged food and non-alcoholic beverages' labels must have new commercial and health information.

From now on, when sellers release a cosmetics product on the platform, apart from Brand name, product name, and other basic information, they also need to mention whether the product contains CBD (cannabidiol, etc.).
If the product contains CBD, the product's THC test report needs to be uploaded accordingly. THC content should not exceed 0.3%.

There is a high likelihood that the bill will get approved. If passed, it would legalize the recreational use of cannabis in Mexico, and make Mexico the world's largest regulated cannabis market.
The bill will issue different operating licenses for those eligible (18+ year-old). These licenses will be based on the uses of marijuana, such as cultivation, transformation, sale, research, and import / export.
