This report provides an update on global progress towards ending hunger and malnutrition, as well as estimates on the number of people who cannot afford a healthy diet. It highlights that conflict, climate extremes, economic slowdowns, unaffordable nutritious foods, and growing inequality hinder progress towards the targets. The report also focuses on the impact of urbanization on food security and nutrition, showing that food purchases and consumption of processed foods are increasing in both urban and rural areas. It aligns with the New Urban Agenda and provides recommendations on policies and investments to ensure access to affordable healthy diets for all.
