Philippines Fda Strengthens Regulation Traditional Medicines Health Supplements

The Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken a significant step toward strengthening the regulation of traditional medicines and health supplements. A technical working group (TWG), known as Task Force Thomson, has been established to lead the charge in formulating new regulations. This task force will focus on streamlining the registration processes for traditional medicines and health supplements through the Center for Food Regulations and Research (CFRR) and the Center for Drug Regulations and Research (CDRR).

The goal of this initiative is to create clear guidelines, improve regulatory oversight, and encourage both innovation and investment in the sector, while ensuring the availability of safe and effective products to consumers.

Relevant stakeholders and industries are encouraged to monitor the progress of the TWG and engage in the regulatory development process to help shape these important guidelines.
