The European Commission revised the list of substances prohibited in cosmetic products, which will come into force from 1 October 2021. The 12 substances been added to the prohibition list are:
- Cobalt (CAS number: 7440-48-4)
- Metaldehyde (ISO); 2,4,6,8-tetramethyl- 1,3,5,7-tetraoxacyclooctane (CAS number: 108-62-3)
- Methylmercuric chloride (CAS number: 115-09-3)
- Benzo[rst]pentaphene (CAS number: 189-55-9)
- Dibenzo[b,def]chrysene; dibenzo[a,h]pyrene (CAS number: 189-64-0)
- Ethanol, 2,2′-iminobis-,N-(C13-15-branched and linear alkyl) derivs. (CAS number: 97925-95-6)
- Cyflumetofen (ISO) (CAS number: 400882-07-7)
- Diisohexyl phthalate (CAS number: 71850-09-4)
- Halosulfuron-methyl (ISO) (CAS number: 100784-20-1)
- 2-methylimidazole (CAS number: 693-98-1)
- Metaflumizone (ISO) (CAS number: 139968-49-3 and CAS number: 852403-68-0)
- Dibutylbis(pentane-2,4-dionato-O,O’)tin (CAS number: 22673-19-4)
