Cosmetics Cream For Children

On 18 June 2021, The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) published the ‘Draft Regulation on Supervision of Children’s Cosmetics’, which issued labeling requirements and formula principles on cosmetic products for children under the age of 12 years old.

Key points to note in the regulation are as follows:

  • Raw materials for the purpose of freckle whitening, acne, hair removal, deodorization, anti-dandruff, anti-hair loss, hair dyeing, perming are not allowed;
  • Only raw materials with a history of safe use should be selected, raw materials that are still in the monitoring period or are not clear regarding children’s safety should not be used.
