On 19 August 2022, President Jair Bolsonaro announced that the Federal Government has eliminated import taxes on food supplements, such as whey protein, creatine, BCAAs and multivitamins, and various sports nutrition items. In addition, he announced a tax reduction from 11.2% to 4% for several other items, such as milk proteins and albumin.
