China: “Food Additives Standards” Open for Public Comments

China’s National Food Safety Standards Review Committee drafted 12 national food safety standards that are open for public comments by April 30, 2021. These drafts include the “Food Additives Standards”.

The main adjustments concern:
– the definition of nutritional fortifiers has been added;
– the English names, INS numbers, and CNS numbers of some food additives;
– the regulations on food flavors and spices.
