China to Focus on Monitoring 18 Different Types of Cosmetics

On 5 July 2021, The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued the “National Cosmetics Safety Risk Monitoring Plan for the Second Half of 2021” and announced the key monitoring of cosmetic products over the next few months.

The NMPA will be monitoring closely:

  • 18 different types of cosmetic products such as children’s cosmetics, children’s toothpaste, freckle whitening products, eye skin care products, and products with anti-wrinkle, anti-acne, anti-itch, hair growth properties and claims.
  • They will also be risk monitoring products for: heavy metals, hormones, antibiotics, microorganisms, preservatives, etc.
