EFSA Published Amendments to Update Tolerable Upper Limit For Vitamin D

Vitamin D In A Container And Pills
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published amendments to update the Tolerable Upper Limit For Vitamin D.

The research and evidence point that high doses of Vitamin D supplements were rare but it could if the use was persistent cause hypercalcemia and hypercalciuria in individuals who consumed in doses of 250 μg/d. This may affect what EFSA advises as the upper tolerable limit of Vitamin D and may have an impact on food supplements and the amount of vitamin D that companies should use in order to not go over this upper tolerable level.
