On 11 May 2022, GSO issued an updated draft Standard for Quinoa. Once this standard is approved, it will replace and supersede standard No. (GSO 2574:2021).
This technical regulation applies to processed and edible quinoa grains and does not apply to quinoa used as seeds for cultivation, and products derived from quinoa (such as flour, and cereal flakes).
The standard stipulates the Essential composition and quality factors of Quinoa, food safety (Contaminants), labeling, and packaging requirements.
Public comments shall be submitted by 11 August 2022 at the latest.
