On March 2, the President of the Republic, Carlos Alvarado, signed the “Law on Cannabis for medical and therapeutic use and Hemp for food and industrial use” Nº10.113. This law authorizes the use of industrial hemp for use in the food industry. The corresponding regulation will provide the technical details for the implementation of this approval.
The law has not yet been published in the official gazette, so it is expected that this will happen in the coming days, which will give more clarity on the bodies responsible for drafting the regulation and the estimated dates for its publication.
