The Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (COFEPRIS) published amendments on 13 March 2023, to draft guidelines for advertising and health surveillance actions linked to the amendments to Mexico’s advertising regulations published in September 2022. According to the statement, these guidelines, once drafted, will be published for public consultation as part of the regular regulatory process.
On the other hand, the statement informs that applications for Advertising Notices for pre-packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages must be submitted under the homocode COFEPRIS-02-002-B enabled as a self-managed process in DIGIPRiS. It should NOT be submitted under the COFEPRIS-02-001-C homocode as it is a procedure of a different nature than that established in the current regulation.
