Argentina Modifies the Permitted and Prohibited Bitter Substances List in Food Industry

The National Food Commission (CONAL), replaced Article 1293 of the Argentine Food Code (C.A.A.), removing harmful bitter substances: those that contain alkaloids and those that contain irritating, drastic, or purgative principles. So, their use is no more permitted in the food industry.
CONAL also updated Article 1294 of Bitter substances of permitted use,  defining the new list of them and including their scientific name.
Cape Aloe, Quina, Quasia Amara and Aloe Vera, among others, have been included in the positive list.
