The UK’s Food Standards Agency have updated their CBD Products list with an additional 2,446 products added. This list relates to the CBD novel food applications that the FSA have received from CBD businesses that are linked to a validated novel food application.
The FSA have confirmed that this updated list was required due to the submission of crucial evidence to the FSA, and therefore the FSA have updated the list. The majority of the products added to the list are products related to applications that had been submitted to the FSA prior to the 31 March 2022 deadline for submission of applications and evidence. However, with 700 product applications, there had been a clerical error which through this updated list has now been rectified.
The FSA have confirmed that this update will be one of two which will happen before 30 June 2022 after which date, no new products will be added to the CBD list and the only updates to the list will reflect the novel food authorisation process carried out by the FSA.
