On 2 May 2023, GhanaWeb published news regarding the Ghana parliament amended the exercise duty act 2014 to replace the list of products that are required to be affixed with an excise tax stamp. these products include sweetened and unsweetened beverages. This is to reduce the negative impact of sugars and sweeteners.
