Since March 15, 2021, people or companies who register into BPOM food products with plastic packaging need to declare the type of plastic they have used.
After indicating whether the packaging is single or multiple, registrants will have to write the type of plastic (eg. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PP), polystyrene (PS), metalized).
In addition to this, registrants must declare the net weight/volume of their products. The sample statement is: “Plastik PET (220 ml)”, which is Bahasa Indonesia language for “PET Plastic (220 ml)”
